Leading the Way to Net Zero with Carbon Charter Gold

Here at Greenscape Energy Ltd, we are thrilled to share the exciting news that we’ve been awarded the highest level of accreditation by the Carbon Charter – the Gold status!

This recognition underscores our commitment to reaching Net Zero 2050, and reinforces our vision to become a leader in sustainability.

The UK government has set a goal of achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This target is crucial for combating global warming, and for ensuring a healthier planet for future generations. We all have a role to play in this journey, whether it’s switching to renewable energy sources, or reducing waste in our daily lives.

“Making sustainability accessible to all”

At Greenscape Energy, we believe sustainability should be accessible to everyone, not just larger businesses with extensive resources. That’s why the Carbon Charter is so important.

It provides guidance, support and accreditation to smaller businesses like ours across Suffolk and Norfolk, helping us all contribute to the nationwide effort to achieve net zero.

The Carbon Charter offers three levels of accreditation: bronze, silver, and gold. We’re incredibly proud to have achieved the gold level, awarding us their title of ‘net zero leader’.

To earn this accreditation, we had to demonstrate our commitment to several sustainability practices, including:

  • Minimising waste and enhancing recycling efforts
  • Improving energy efficiency across our premises and equipment
  • Implementing sustainable procurement policies
  • Engaging with our local community on environmental issues
  • Having a comprehensive net zero action plan

We’ve been working hard on these fronts as approved installers of solar panels, energy storage systems, electric vehicle chargers and air source heat pumps.

Since 2012, we’ve completed over 16,000 installations, supporting local homes and businesses in their sustainability goals, as well as helping reduce energy costs.

Our commitment to sustainability – AND community

But our commitment doesn’t stop there. We’ve also implemented our own sustainability practices, such as installing solar panels, integrating energy storage systems, and transitioning to hybrid and electric vehicles.

One of the things we are most proud of is our deep roots in the East Anglia community. Our shop in Ipswich is a popular hub where local home and business owners can drop in to discuss practical sustainability solutions and get tailored energy-saving advice.

We’re also active in the community, sponsoring Ipswich-based Coplestonians FC and participating in local events.

Achieving the Carbon Charter Gold status is a huge milestone for us, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our entire team.

Our CEO, Josh Young, sums it up perfectly:

“As a renewable energy supplier specialising in solar panels and energy storage systems, sustainability naturally plays a huge role in what we do. We have a strong commitment to supporting our customers in their own efforts to help achieve UK net zero goals, and provide all the advice we can to ensure everyone gets the most out of the carbon footprint-reducing technology we install for them.

“However, it’s equally important to pursue our own sustainability agenda. This is why we put ourselves forward for benchmarking by the Carbon Charter. It’s allowed us to reassure ourselves – and our customers – that we’re doing all we can to reduce our carbon footprint, and that we are all sharing the same journey towards protecting the planet for future generations.”

We’re also proud to be Trustmark endorsed and a Suffolk Trusted Trader, with over 120 staff dedicated to helping our customers achieve their sustainability goals.
