Multi-Room Air Conditioning Installation

From £4,680 fully fitted. One outdoor compressor, up to five indoor units, independently zoned and controlled. Cool and heat the rooms you actually live in, without conditioning empty space.

A multi-room split (or multi-split) is the right answer when you want consistent climate control across more than one room. Master bedroom plus living room. Three bedrooms upstairs. An open-plan kitchen-diner-living area plus the master bedroom. Each indoor unit runs independently, so you control room by room.

When a multi-split is the better choice

You're cooling, or heating, more than one room often. The trade-off versus separate single-room installs is straightforward:

One outdoor unit
instead of three or four, which means a cleaner exterior, less wall space taken up, and lower install cost per room
One pipework infrastructure,
run once during install
Independently zoned
each room has its own thermostat, schedule, and mode
Refrigerant cost spread across the system
more efficient than multiple independent compressors

Multi-splits scale neatly. Two rooms, three rooms, four rooms, five rooms from a single outdoor compressor. We've installed plenty of three-bedroom-plus-living-room setups across Suffolk and Norfolk for customers who wanted whole-floor or whole-house comfort.

What you get

We install Bosch Climate 5000i outdoor compressors paired with multiple 3200i indoor units for multi-room jobs. Premium tier across the board, and the same 15-year operational lifespan as the single-room range.

Included in every install:

  • One outdoor compressor unit (sized to the number of indoor units)
  • Two to five indoor wall-mounted units, positioned during survey
  • Refrigerant pipework runs to every room, concealed where the property allows
  • Full electrical connection from a dedicated spur
  • Independent zone controls for each room
  • Commissioning, system test, and handover
  • App setup with multi-zone control, voice-assistant pairing
  • All certification paperwork, building control notification, and warranty registration

Warranty: 5-year Bosch product warranty plus 2-year Greenscape labour warranty on every install.

How the install works

Most multi-room installs are two to three days on site, depending on pipework runs and the number of indoor units.

Day 1

Outdoor unit positioned and mounted. First two indoor units fitted and connected. Pipework planning for remaining rooms.

Day 2

Remaining indoor units fitted, pipework runs completed, refrigerant charged, system pressure-tested.

Day 3 (if needed)

Commissioning, multi-zone setup, app configuration, walk-through with you.

We dust-sheet the work areas, run pipework concealed in walls or behind furniture where possible, and tidy as we go.

Running costs across multiple rooms

The beauty of independent zoning is that you only pay for the rooms you're using. Cooling the master bedroom and the lounge while the spare rooms sit unconditioned costs roughly 70p to £1.20 per evening on standard grid electricity.

With solar, daytime cooling across multiple rooms still runs essentially free during sunny hours, because a 4 kW array generates more electricity than a typical multi-split needs at peak cooling demand.

With solar plus a battery on an off-peak smart tariff, evening and overnight cooling drops to around 15 to 25p for the full setup. Winter heating across the same rooms, run as heat pumps from battery-shifted electricity, comes in at roughly 1.75p per kWh of heat. That's well below mains gas.

Had my Air Con installed today.. Could not fault the two installers who attended. . Arrived nice and early, took a look around outside and indoors no hesitation in starting work and confirming where I wanted the appliance. Shoes off each time they entered house and completed the tidy up after themselves. Remote and operation of A/C explained to me.. Good work, keep it up.

I've just had solar panels, battery and EV charger installed by Mark and Luke. They arrived a little early, did the job as quietly as possible with no fuss, and have finished much earlier than I'd expected. Mark then explained what's what, which I think I'll remember. Couldn't expect more. Scaffolding subcontractor was similarly efficient putting the scaffolding up. The back office and survey staff have been friendly and efficient too. It has been good to be able to visit the showroom office in Ipswich.

Michaela, dealt with my finance query in a professional, efficient manner, and placated my fears that the progress on my solar system would be paused until the return of the surveyor from holiday. Good customer care. Thank you

I have been very impressed with the service I received from Greenscape. The initial survey was very professionally done by Andrew and I was pleased that he convinced me not to have more panels than necessary. The team that installed the battery and inverter were excellent and very pleasant to deal with. The system is up and running and there have been no complications. I thoroughly recommend Greenscape.

I arranged to have solar panels and a battery installed by Greenscape via OVO Energy. From start to finish, the service has been excellent. From the survey, to the panel installation and battery installation, every team member has been professional and very friendly. The after sales have kept in contact to make sure everything has gone smoothly. Couldn't fault Greenscape.

Common questions

01 How many rooms can one outdoor unit support?

Up to five indoor units from a single Bosch Climate 5000i outdoor compressor. We size the outdoor unit to the total cooling load during the survey.

02 Can I add a room later?

Often yes, depending on the original outdoor unit capacity. If we surveyed for two rooms and you want to add a third in 18 months, the existing outdoor unit usually has the headroom. We'll flag this during the original survey if you mention future plans.

03 Does each room need its own thermostat?

Each indoor unit has its own integrated controls and app interface, so yes, each room is independently controlled.

04 How long is the install?

Two to three days on site for a multi-room job. We schedule it as consecutive days so the disruption is contained.

05 Are the indoor units all the same size?

Not necessarily. We size each indoor unit to the room it's serving. A small bedroom needs less capacity than a large open-plan lounge. That's part of what the survey decides.

Ready to talk?

A free survey for a multi-room job takes around 90 minutes. We assess each room you want cooled, walk through positioning, run a pipework plan, and send you a bespoke proposal straight away.
