Accreditations and Memberships

Accreditations are not what makes us a good installer. The work itself is what does that. But the accreditations we hold provide independent confirmation that we operate to the standards we claim to, and they are the protection you have if anything ever goes wrong. This page lists the ones we hold, with a plain-English explanation of what each one actually means for you as the customer.

The list is long. Holding all of these simultaneously is unusual in the UK renewables market. Many installers hold one or two of these and call themselves “fully accredited”; we have built up to the full set deliberately, because each one covers a different part of what a renewable energy customer should reasonably expect.

Consumer protection

These are the certifications that exist specifically to protect renewable energy customers. They cover deposit insurance, workmanship cover, sales conduct standards and independent dispute resolution.

MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme)

The UK's primary scheme for the certification of small-scale renewable energy installers. Required to claim Smart Export Guarantee payments, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant, and most other government renewable energy incentives.

What it means for you: an MCS-certified installer has demonstrated technical competence, business integrity, customer protection compliance, and passes annual audit assurance. Without MCS, you cannot claim BUS, SEG or related schemes.

Greenscape status: MCS-certified for solar PV, battery storage, and air source heat pumps. Continuously certified since 2019 and recently awarded the 5-year MCS certification anniversary status.

RECC (Renewable Energy Consumer Code)

A Trading Standards-backed consumer protection code specifically for renewable energy installers. Covers sales conduct, installation quality, dispute resolution, deposit protection and warranty handling.

What it means for you: an RECC member has signed up to a code that enforces stricter conduct standards than UK consumer law alone requires. Disputes that arise can be escalated to RECC's independent mediation service.

Greenscape status: RECC member 2026 (renewed annually).

TrustMark

The UK government-endorsed quality mark for trade businesses. Registered TrustMark firms have been verified for technical competence, customer service, and trading standards compliance.

What it means for you: TrustMark is the UK government's chosen quality assurance scheme for home improvement trades. Listed firms have passed third-party verification.

Greenscape status: TrustMark registered.

QualityMark Protection

Independent deposit and workmanship insurance scheme regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Provides additional protection over and above the standard manufacturer and installer warranties.

What it means for you: your deposit is insured against the very unlikely event that the installer ceases trading between deposit and install. The workmanship insurance covers our installation work for 10 years, backed by an independent insurer.

Greenscape status: QualityMark Protection Accredited Installer (QAS849L8Y), continuously since July 2019.

Electrical certification

NICEIC

National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting. Operated by Certsure LLP. Certifies electrical installers to BS 7671 (the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations).

What it means for you: every electrical aspect of your install, from the consumer unit work to the cabling, the inverter, the battery integration and the commissioning, is signed off by a qualified NICEIC contractor. NICEIC is one of the two main UK competent person schemes (alongside NAPIT) and our preferred route because of the depth of audit and oversight.

Greenscape status: NICEIC Approved Contractor and Domestic Installer (Certificate 612902000). Continuously certified since January 2019. We recently passed the 5-year NICEIC Competent Persons Scheme anniversary.

Three further NICEIC certifications cover specific product categories:

  • NICEIC MCS Certificate covering solar PV and air source heat pump electrical work
  • NICEIC AC Certificate covering electrical works on air conditioning installs
  • NICEIC Unvented Heating Systems covering hot water cylinder installation work as part of heat pump installs

Refrigerant and EV charging

F-Gas Certification

UK F-Gas certification under the Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases Regulations 2015. Required for any business installing, commissioning, servicing or decommissioning equipment containing fluorinated refrigerants, which includes all air conditioning and most heat pumps.

What it means for you: our team is qualified to handle refrigerants properly and legally, including the over-3kg systems some larger heat pumps and commercial AC use.

Greenscape status: F-Gas certified (Certificate REF1023553).

OZEV Authorised EV Charger Installer

Office for Zero Emission Vehicles authorisation for EV charge point installation, required to access the workplace and residential EV charger grants where they apply.

Greenscape status: OZEV-authorised residential and commercial EV charger installer.

Environmental

Suffolk Carbon Charter Gold Level

Awarded to Suffolk businesses that are monitoring and reducing their carbon emissions. The Gold level is awarded only to organisations deemed to be exemplifying best practice in terms of demonstrating significant reductions in carbon emissions and championing the environmental agenda.

What it means for you: we hold ourselves to the same emissions standards we help our customers achieve.

Greenscape status: Suffolk Carbon Charter Gold Level 2026 (assessment 3rd February 2026, panel decision 29th April 2026).

Financial regulation

FCA Registration

Financial Conduct Authority registration, required for any business offering or arranging consumer finance.

What it means for you: we can lawfully arrange finance for your solar, battery, heat pump or commercial installation. Consumer finance is provided by Zopa Bank. Greenscape Energy Limited acts as a credit broker, not a lender.

Greenscape status: FCA registered (registration number 690130).

Manufacturer accreditations

Brand-specific certifications that demonstrate deep installation expertise on particular product lines. Manufacturers do not grant these lightly. They require evidence of install volume, customer satisfaction, technical training and audit compliance.

Solar

SunPower Premier Installer

Premier installer status in our region, earned through installation volume on the SunPower premium panel range. SunPower panels carry a combined 30-year service warranty, 30-year production guarantee and 30-year product warranty.

UK's largest domestic Solis installer (by install volume)

Solis hybrid inverters are our default residential battery and inverter platform. We hold engineering depth on the Solis range that no other UK installer can match.

Battery storage

Tesla Powerwall Premium Certified Installer

The highest UK dealer status with Tesla, earned through install volume, customer satisfaction, technical training and direct warranty handling capability.

Sigenergy Gold Installer

Fox ESS premium-tier installer

Covers both the EP-series AC-coupled batteries and the all-in-one EVO range.

Heat Pumps

Vaillant MasterTEC Accredited Installer

Vaillant's heat pump accreditation status. Practical benefit: extended warranty when customer installs are registered within 30 days.

Clivet UK installer partner with exclusive Adia Thermal Control System integration

Greenscape is one of the few UK installers offering exclusive Adia Thermal Control System integration with Clivet heat pumps, the combination that delivers our typical SCOP 4.6 install figure.

Stiebel Eltron approved installer

German-engineered premium heat pump range, used for our highest-spec heat pump installs.

Air conditioning

Bosch premium-tier installer

Premium-tier installer status with Bosch, covering the Climate 3000i, 3200i and 5000i range.

Industry and community partnerships

Country Land and Business Association (CLA)

Trusted commercial partner of the CLA, the leading rural business association in England and Wales. The CLA relationship is one of the strongest signals of trust available to UK farmers and rural businesses considering solar.

Council partnerships across East Anglia

We have long-standing partnerships with local councils across East Anglia who have chosen us as their delivery installer for council-backed renewable energy programmes. See the council partnerships page for the detail.

Useful questions to ask any installer

If you are comparing Greenscape against another installer, these five questions are worth asking either of us. The answers say a lot about how each installer actually operates.

01 Are you MCS-certified for the specific product you are quoting?

Required for SEG export payments and BUS grants.

02 Are you RECC, HIES or QualityMark Protection member?

This gives you Trading Standards-backed dispute resolution and deposit protection.

03 What manufacturer accreditations do you hold, and at what level?

Generic "approved installer" claims often mean less than they sound. Named manufacturer status with a specific tier (Premium, Gold, MasterTEC, Premier) is more meaningful.

04 Do you subcontract installation? If so, are subcontractors named on the install paperwork and covered by your workmanship warranty?

Subcontracting is normal in some trades. What matters is transparency.

05 What is your customer recommendation rate and where is it published?

Real, recent, third-party-verifiable reviews matter more than internal customer satisfaction figures.

We answer all five of these in our written proposal and in the supporting documentation we send before install.
