Our Council Partnerships

For more than a decade we have worked alongside local councils across East Anglia to deliver renewable energy projects in the communities we both serve. Councils choose Greenscape because we have the install volume, the local employed team, and the track record to deliver large numbers of installs to a consistent standard. We treat council-backed installs with the same care as any other work, and we work directly with councils that want to roll out renewable energy programmes for their residents or estates.

How we work with councils

Councils across East Anglia have approached us for a range of work over the years, and the relationships have grown organically as the work has gone well. The shape of what we do for them varies by council and by year, but it falls broadly into three areas.

The throughput numbers matter for councils because they need to know an installer can deliver dozens or hundreds of installs without the wheels coming off. We install around 50 solar systems a week as a baseline, plus the heat pump and AC throughput. Councils have repeatedly chosen Greenscape over much larger national installers because of that local employed delivery capability and the consistency the reviews bear out.

Why councils choose us

The list of reasons is not particularly different from why individual customers choose us. Councils are doing more rigorous procurement and demand more paperwork up front, but the underlying tests are the same.

  • Longevity

The 14-year track record matters because councils are accountable for the choices they put their name behind. If an installer disappears two years after the work, the council's residents come back to the council. Councils want to know an installer will still be trading at the end of the warranty period. We are.

  • Local presence

Our office, our warehouse, our install crews and our customer service team are all in Ipswich. We are not a sales operation routing the work through subcontracted third parties. The council can drive past our showroom on Woodbridge Road and walk in. Several have.

  • Accreditation depth

MCS, RECC, HIES, NAPIT, TrustMark, FCA, plus full manufacturer status with the brands we install. Councils need to evidence that residents are being directed towards properly vetted suppliers, and the accreditations are how that evidence is built.

  • Customer satisfaction

Councils run their own quality checks on the installers they put forward, including post-install customer surveys. Our 95% recommendation rate has held up across that scrutiny across multiple councils over multiple years.

  • Capacity

A council scheme might generate 40 installs in a quarter. Some installers cannot handle that volume without subcontracting. We can, with our employed install teams, and we do.

Working with us as a council

If you are at a council, a parish council, a housing association, or a public-sector procurement function and you are exploring renewable energy delivery for residents or council-owned property, the first step is a direct conversation.

We have done procurement responses, tender submissions, framework applications, and direct contract negotiations. The right route depends on what you are trying to deliver and the scale. Some councils want a sole supplier arrangement; some want us alongside one or two others; some want us as the residential-facing installer with separate suppliers handling estate work; some want us across both. We can work to any of these models.

The right person to talk to first is Pat Rickards, our Head of Commercial. Pat handles all commercial and institutional relationships from initial scoping through tender response and ongoing delivery. He can be reached on 01473 727 727 or at commercial@greenscapeenergy.co.uk.

For residents arriving at this page because their council has recommended Greenscape: welcome. The route from here is the same as for any other customer. Book a free survey using the contact details below, mention which council scheme you are coming through, and we will pick up from there. The survey, the proposal, the install and the aftercare are exactly as we would deliver them to any other customer.
