A heat pump is a 20 year investment. The reason customers choose us for one is not because we are the cheapest or the loudest. It is because we have been doing this long enough to design it properly, install it cleanly, and still be here when it needs a service in 2034. We have completed over 600 air source heat pump installations across East Anglia. We hold premium installer status with Clivet and we are one of the few installers in the country with full Adia Thermal Control System integration. The heating division is led internally and the customer journey, from survey through commissioning, is delivered by Greenscape employees.
We launched the heating division in 2017, five years after Greenscape was founded as a solar specialist. It was a deliberate move rather than an opportunistic one. The UK was going to need to shift away from fossil-fuel heating, the technology was maturing fast, and we wanted to be ready as a fully trained installer with established standards. The customers we install for today benefit from eight years of refinement in how we design and deliver these systems.
2017 to 2024
The years between 2017 and 2024 were spent testing heat pumps from more than a dozen manufacturers across real UK installs. Some were budget brands using scroll compressors that short-cycled in mild weather and killed real-world performance. Some were large brands with strong marketing but mediocre install results. A handful proved themselves over repeat installs across multiple property types and seasons. Our current range is the product of that filtering process. We do not install kit we have not stood behind in our own customers' homes for years.
Today
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant pays £7,500 toward an air source heat pump (regardless of whether you are replacing gas, oil or LPG), £7,500 toward a ground source heat pump, and £6,000 for a shared ground loop scheme. It covers a meaningful chunk of the install cost for most households. We handle the grant application end-to-end so the customer never has to navigate the paperwork. The BUS scheme is funded through at least March 2028 under current commitments.
Clivet is our headline recommendation. Italian engineered, with a dedicated UK headquarters for warranty support, and a next-generation inverter compressor that modulates output to match heat demand moment by moment. Critically, Clivet is the only heat pump in our range that integrates with the Adia Thermal Control System. The combination is what gets our typical install to a SCOP of 4.6, meaning 460% efficiency: 4.6 units of heat delivered for every unit of electricity consumed. Most customers we install Clivet for see annual heating bills drop by 50 to 70% compared with their previous oil, gas or LPG system.
Vaillant aroTHERM Plus is our mid-tier recommendation. Established UK brand with a maximum flow temperature of up to 75°C, the same as Clivet, which suits retrofitting onto older radiator systems where the customer wants to minimise radiator upgrades. Particularly suited to households already running Vaillant gas boilers who want to stay in the same ecosystem and app. 7-year manufacturer warranty, extendable through our MasterTEC status.
Stiebel Eltron is the premium option. German engineered, 40+ years of specialist heat pump experience, the deepest cold weather operating range in our line-up (down to -25°C), industry-leading 32 dB(A) acoustic performance at 5 metres. We install the WPL 25 ACS, WPL A07 HK 230 Premium, and the new Black Premium Range. Strong fit for larger or technically complex properties where the customer wants the highest-spec engineering available.
All three brands run on R290 propane refrigerant (low Global Warming Potential, future-proof), all three are MCS approved, and all three are eligible for the BUS grant. The right brand for your house depends on your radiators, your hot water demand, your existing fuel, your acoustic constraints and your budget. We will recommend the one that fits, not the one with the highest margin.
The Adia Thermal Control System
Adia Thermal is the smart-control layer that ships with our Clivet installs. It is what turns a well-designed heat pump into a system that earns its keep on cheap-rate electricity rather than running expensively against peak tariffs.
Three things Adia Thermal does that standard heat pump controls do not. It gives the customer real-time SCOP visibility, so you can see exactly how efficiently the system is running this week. It reads your tariff (Octopus Cosy, Intelligent Octopus Go, Agile, equivalent dynamic tariffs from other suppliers) and schedules heat pump cycling and hot water cylinder reheats into the cheap windows. And it supports room-by-room scheduling, so the bedroom can be warmer at 7am and the lounge warmer at 7pm without the system running everything at the same temperature all day.
The result is heating bills that look more like our solar customers' electricity bills than like a typical UK gas household. A 4-bed home with Clivet + Adia Thermal on Cosy Octopus typically runs annual heating costs in the £450 to £650 range. The same house on its old oil or gas system would have been £1,500 to £2,400.
How we run a heat pump install
1 / 4
The heating division sits under Sarah Gallagher, our Head of Customer Experience and Business Improvement. Survey, design and project coordination are handled by our employed Renewable Energy Specialists. Installation is done by our MCS-qualified heating engineers. Technical support sits under Dan Elmer, our Technical Manager. The customer is not handed off between subcontractors. The same names appear at every stage.
A typical customer journey from first enquiry to commissioning looks like this. You call or email. We give you a ballpark estimate within the same day if you can share your EPC. We book a site survey. Our Renewable Energy Specialist visits, takes detailed measurements, calculates room-by-room heat loss using actual U-values, and produces a heat emitter efficiency report telling us which existing radiators meet demand at heat pump flow temperatures and which need replacing.
You receive a written proposal within 5 working days containing the recommended system, any radiator changes, the BUS grant figure, and a fixed price for everything including the grant offset. We handle the BUS grant application end-to-end. Install is typically 4 to 6 weeks from sign-off and takes 5 to 7 days on site. Commissioning includes Adia Thermal walk-through with you so you understand the schedule, the app and how to tweak it.
Then comes the 10-year manufacturer warranty on Clivet (7 years on the others, extendable), and our 5-year Greenscape workmanship guarantee on top. Beyond that we offer annual servicing for £180-£220 a year that keeps the system at warranty-compliant condition.
Great technical support from a most personable Callum.

Had my Air Con installed today.. Could not fault the two installers who attended. . Arrived nice and early, took a look around outside and indoors no hesitation in starting work and confirming where I wanted the appliance. Shoes off each time they entered house and completed the tidy up after themselves. Remote and operation of A/C explained to me.. Good work, keep it up.

I've just had solar panels, battery and EV charger installed by Mark and Luke. They arrived a little early, did the job as quietly as possible with no fuss, and have finished much earlier than I'd expected. Mark then explained what's what, which I think I'll remember. Couldn't expect more.
Scaffolding subcontractor was similarly efficient putting the scaffolding up.
The back office and survey staff have been friendly and efficient too. It has been good to be able to visit the showroom office in Ipswich.

I have been very impressed with the service I received from Greenscape. The initial survey was very professionally done by Andrew and I was pleased that he convinced me not to have more panels than necessary. The team that installed the battery and inverter were excellent and very pleasant to deal with. The system is up and running and there have been no complications. I thoroughly recommend Greenscape.

I arranged to have solar panels and a battery installed by Greenscape via OVO Energy. From start to finish, the service has been excellent. From the survey, to the panel installation and battery installation, every team member has been professional and very friendly. The after sales have kept in contact to make sure everything has gone smoothly. Couldn't fault Greenscape.
“We love having a consistently warm home, which works perfectly for us as there is often someone here. With the new system, we no longer experience the temperature peaks we used to.”

Where this goes next
The single biggest swing in domestic heating over the next decade is the move off fossil fuels. New gas boilers are banned in new builds from 2025, and the expected ban on replacement gas boilers from 2035 is now widely planned for by the industry. Oil and LPG customers face the most aggressive fuel cost inflation, which (combined with the same £7,500 BUS grant available to all heat pump customers) is why a meaningful share of our heat pump installs are now off-gas conversions across rural Suffolk, Norfolk and the Fens.
The other shift is integration. Solar plus battery plus heat pump on a smart tariff is the lowest-running-cost setup currently achievable for a UK home. Customers who already have solar with us are increasingly returning for the heat pump as part of a longer plan to electrify the house. That is one of the patterns inside the 62% repeat-customer figure on our About Greenscape page.
