Solar is what we have done longest, what we still do most of, and the area where customers most often choose us because they want an installer who will be around in twenty years to support what they have just bought. We have completed over 16,000 solar installations since 2012. We are still here, still doing the same work, with the same focus on getting it right for the customer the first time.
Greenscape started in 2012 as a small solar installer in Ipswich. The early years coincided with the height of the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) era, when thousands of installers were chasing the same customers and engineering quality varied wildly. Underspecified cabling. Shading not surveyed. Customers signed at the kitchen table on inflated savings projections. The industry had a reputation problem.
2013/4
We were built to be the opposite of that. Slow growing in the early years. Single point of contact through the customer journey. Every install personally supervised. Every customer relationship designed to last 25 years rather than 25 days. Through 2013 the first employees came on board. In 2014 we opened the showroom on Woodbridge Road, so customers could see kit running live before buying.
2019
When the Feed-in Tariff closed to new applicants in March 2019, a lot of installers exited the market. The 21p generation tariff had been doing the heavy lifting on the financial case, and without it some companies could not make the maths work. We were already running on the assumption that solar should pay back on self-consumption alone, with rising grid prices doing the rest. So we kept installing, and we kept growing.
Today
In the seven years since FIT ended we have roughly tripled the size of the company. Today we install around 50 solar systems a week, employ over 70 people, and operate across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Peterborough on the residential side, plus UK-wide on commercial work. The 95% customer recommendation rate has held steady through that growth, and 62% of customers we have installed for since 2018 have come back to us for additional work.
The panels we install (and the ones we do not)
We have settled on three panel brands that cover the range of what customers want.
Sunpower
East Anglia’s top installer
Sunpower is the premium tier. It is the only domestic solar panel on the UK market that comes with a 30-year service warranty, 30-year production guarantee, and 30-year product warranty as a combined package. For customers who want their panels to outlast multiple ownership cycles, SunPower is the answer. We are East Anglia's top SunPower installer by volume, with deep experience across the full residential range.
AIKO is our mid-tier recommendation. Latest-generation n-type TOPCon technology, 25-year warranty, industry-leading shade tolerance. For most family homes AIKO is the sensible choice: high-end performance without the SunPower price point.
Eurener is our European-manufactured option. Spanish-made, 25-year warranty, strong build quality. We install Eurener when customers specifically want EU provenance, or when site constraints make a slightly different panel format the better fit.
What we do not install: bargain panels, polycrystalline panels, or rebadged clearance stock. There are cheaper options in the market and we have actively chosen not to chase them. Customers usually want to know which panel will still be performing well in 2046, and the answer to that question is a much shorter list than the panels currently being sold in the UK.
The Solis specialism
Of all our solar partnerships, our relationship with Solis has done the most to define how we install. Solis hybrid inverters became our default specification in the late 2010s. They are reliable, fairly priced, deeply integrated with UK smart tariffs, and supported by a UK technical team we can phone when something needs a second opinion.
That choice compounded. By volume, Greenscape is the largest domestic Solis installer in the UK. Our engineers know the Solis range in detail that no other UK installer can match. Every configuration, every battery pairing, every firmware revision, every smart-tariff schedule. Our installs do not run on default settings; they get tuned at commissioning to extract the performance the platform is capable of.
When Solis launched the IntelliHome battery range in 2026 (7,000 cycle life, 99.999% safety guarantee, eight onboard optimisation algorithms, sleek 250mm wall depth), we were among the first installers in the UK to offer it. That specialism is one of the reasons customers choose us for solar-plus-battery installs in particular: the combination of products is where the real saving lives, and getting that combination right requires deep knowledge of how the inverter and the battery actually talk to each other.
Premium-tier battery options
Solis covers the default battery install. For customers who want premium specification, we hold formal certifications with three other brands.
The highest UK dealer status with Tesla, earned through install volume, customer satisfaction scores, technical training and quality audits. Powerwall 3 is the headline option for customers who specifically want the Tesla ecosystem with whole-home backup built in.
Covering the SigenStor modular all-in-one range. Sigenergy is the newest of the major brands on our line-up, with a unique stackable architecture, the longest cycle-life warranty on the market (15 years to 70%), and an integrated EV-DC charging module that no other home battery currently offers.
Covering both the EP-series AC-coupled batteries and the all-in-one EVO range. Fox sits between Solis on value and Tesla or Sigenergy on premium spec. Particularly strong for retrofit onto existing solar where AC-coupling is the cleaner answer.
Every battery brand on our line-up runs on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry, with manufacturer warranties of 10 to 15 years to a defined retained capacity. None of them is the cheapest battery on the UK market. All of them are batteries we are willing to install in our own homes, which is the test we apply to anything we recommend.
What an install actually looks like
1 / 4
A typical residential install runs 1 to 2 days on site depending on the size of the system. A 4 kW roof install with hybrid inverter and a small battery is usually a one-day install. A 6 to 8 kW system with battery and EV charger, or a larger 10 kW array with two or three roof slopes, typically runs into a second day.
Every install is delivered by employed Greenscape staff. The roofing team is led by George Overill. The electrical work is signed off by Phillip Dunstone, our NICEIC Qualified Supervisor. Battery commissioning is led by Dan Elmer's technical support team. We occasionally use subcontracted scaffolders or specialist trades where it makes sense, but the core install crew on your house will be Greenscape employees.
You receive a binder on handover containing your MCS install certificate, RECC consumer protection registration, QualityMark Protection deposit and workmanship cover, NICEIC electrical certification, the manufacturer warranties for every component, and the contact route for any aftercare. The app gets set up with you on install day so you can see the system running before we leave. We follow up at 3 to 4 weeks to look at the first month of data, and again at 12 months.
If anything goes wrong inside the 10-year workmanship period, we cover labour and parts at no charge. If anything goes wrong outside it, we still pick up the phone. The customer in the NR area whose system we repaired several years after warranty is not unusual; we treat that as part of how the relationship works.
Great technical support from a most personable Callum.

Had my Air Con installed today.. Could not fault the two installers who attended. . Arrived nice and early, took a look around outside and indoors no hesitation in starting work and confirming where I wanted the appliance. Shoes off each time they entered house and completed the tidy up after themselves. Remote and operation of A/C explained to me.. Good work, keep it up.

I've just had solar panels, battery and EV charger installed by Mark and Luke. They arrived a little early, did the job as quietly as possible with no fuss, and have finished much earlier than I'd expected. Mark then explained what's what, which I think I'll remember. Couldn't expect more.
Scaffolding subcontractor was similarly efficient putting the scaffolding up.
The back office and survey staff have been friendly and efficient too. It has been good to be able to visit the showroom office in Ipswich.

Michaela, dealt with my finance query in a professional, efficient manner, and placated my fears that the progress on my solar system would be paused until the return of the surveyor from holiday. Good customer care. Thank you

I have been very impressed with the service I received from Greenscape. The initial survey was very professionally done by Andrew and I was pleased that he convinced me not to have more panels than necessary. The team that installed the battery and inverter were excellent and very pleasant to deal with. The system is up and running and there have been no complications. I thoroughly recommend Greenscape.

I arranged to have solar panels and a battery installed by Greenscape via OVO Energy. From start to finish, the service has been excellent. From the survey, to the panel installation and battery installation, every team member has been professional and very friendly. The after sales have kept in contact to make sure everything has gone smoothly. Couldn't fault Greenscape.
“The installation day went well. The team was pleasant and left the home clean and tidy. Over the past year my home consumed 6,251 kWh and generated 5,765 kWh. My Octopus direct debit is now just £1.”

Where this goes next
The single biggest shift in residential solar over the next decade is electrification. Heat pumps replacing gas and oil boilers. EVs replacing petrol cars. Induction hobs replacing gas. Each of these roughly doubles a home's electricity demand. Solar and battery storage are the foundation that makes the running cost work.
We design solar installs today with that next decade in mind. The hybrid inverter we specify can handle a future heat pump retrofit. The battery we recommend can absorb cheap-rate overnight charging for an EV you do not own yet. The export limit we set leaves room for capacity you might add later. Where customers tell us they have no plans to electrify further, we still design with the option open, because plans change.
