Alan and his partner had missed the first round of Solar Together Suffolk, so when it came around again they didn't hesitate. Sustainability was the driving force — Alan's brother-in-law had experienced eye-watering energy bills with an Air Source Heat Pump until solar was added, which only reinforced the case. The Solar Together pricing also came in significantly lower than what his brother-in-law had paid for a comparable system, making the value impossible to ignore.
Eleven 435W solar panels were paired with a 5kW Fox battery — a system comfortably sized for the household's annual consumption of just 2,406kWh. A strong wind on installation day meant the electrical work and panel fitting were split across two visits, which Alan fully understood given the safety implications. Questions sent by email after the survey were answered promptly, and the install team were praised for being clean, tidy, and professional throughout.
Alan has since embraced Octopus Go, occasionally charging his battery from the grid for free on certain days. For a household where sustainability came first and savings were simply a welcome bonus, the system has delivered on every level.
Definitely have a battery, and definitely consider it if you're under the Solar Together scheme.

Had my Air Con installed today.. Could not fault the two installers who attended. . Arrived nice and early, took a look around outside and indoors no hesitation in starting work and confirming where I wanted the appliance. Shoes off each time they entered house and completed the tidy up after themselves. Remote and operation of A/C explained to me.. Good work, keep it up.

Easy payment by credit card
I've just had solar panels, battery and EV charger installed by Mark and Luke. They arrived a little early, did the job as quietly as possible with no fuss, and have finished much earlier than I'd expected. Mark then explained what's what, which I think I'll remember. Couldn't expect more. Scaffolding subcontractor was similarly efficient putting the scaffolding up. The back office and survey staff have been friendly and efficient too. It has been good to be able to visit the showroom office in Ipswich.
