When Michael decided to add an Air Source Heat Pump to his Greenscape solar installation in 2022, he didn't rush the decision. He gathered two other quotes, researched extensively, and paid particular attention to refrigerant types and system efficiency. The cheaper alternatives raised concerns rather than appeal — what he wanted was a system genuinely fit for purpose, and one that would allow him to cut ties with gas completely.
A WPLA07 single-phase ASHP was installed, with radiators upgraded to doubles and triples throughout the home to ensure compatibility. When an inverter fault arose shortly after installation, it was resolved quickly and the system has performed reliably ever since. Michael subsequently paid to have his gas supply fully disconnected — no boiler, no standing charge.
Total energy bills are now at least a third lower than before. The consistent temperature throughout the home day and night is something Michael particularly values. Most impressively, the EPC improvement from D to B secured him a preferential remortgage rate with NatWest — proof that going green pays in more ways than one.
Do it! If you have the upfront capital, do it whilst incentives remain in place — such as the £7,500 BUS grant on ASHP

Had my Air Con installed today.. Could not fault the two installers who attended. . Arrived nice and early, took a look around outside and indoors no hesitation in starting work and confirming where I wanted the appliance. Shoes off each time they entered house and completed the tidy up after themselves. Remote and operation of A/C explained to me.. Good work, keep it up.

Easy payment by credit card
I've just had solar panels, battery and EV charger installed by Mark and Luke. They arrived a little early, did the job as quietly as possible with no fuss, and have finished much earlier than I'd expected. Mark then explained what's what, which I think I'll remember. Couldn't expect more. Scaffolding subcontractor was similarly efficient putting the scaffolding up. The back office and survey staff have been friendly and efficient too. It has been good to be able to visit the showroom office in Ipswich.
