Oil heating had always been a frustration for Josephine and her husband — messy deliveries, unpredictable pricing, and a system that offered no resilience against the regular power cuts their area experienced. Having already expanded their solar setup with Greenscape, adding an ASHP was the natural final step in leaving fossil fuels behind entirely.
A Greenscape ASHP was installed in June, with almost all radiators upgraded across the property. Two Tesla Powerwalls ensure the home can manage peak demand — running the oven and charging two EVs simultaneously is far more manageable with 10kWh of storage than it was with one. When thermostat issues emerged before the two-year warranty expired, Greenscape replaced every unit and refunded the cost in full. Out-of-hours support was also on hand when a bedroom leak needed urgent attention.
Despite powering a full ASHP and two electric vehicles, the household's Octopus account stood £500 in credit as winter 2024 approached. The ASHP costs more to service than a gas boiler, but is considerably cheaper to run — and free from the price volatility that made oil such an unreliable way to heat a home.
Go for it — I would not hesitate. Better return than an ISA or savings plan.

Had my Air Con installed today.. Could not fault the two installers who attended. . Arrived nice and early, took a look around outside and indoors no hesitation in starting work and confirming where I wanted the appliance. Shoes off each time they entered house and completed the tidy up after themselves. Remote and operation of A/C explained to me.. Good work, keep it up.

Easy payment by credit card
I've just had solar panels, battery and EV charger installed by Mark and Luke. They arrived a little early, did the job as quietly as possible with no fuss, and have finished much earlier than I'd expected. Mark then explained what's what, which I think I'll remember. Couldn't expect more. Scaffolding subcontractor was similarly efficient putting the scaffolding up. The back office and survey staff have been friendly and efficient too. It has been good to be able to visit the showroom office in Ipswich.
